A native of Youngsville, LA, Milan Milson began her dance training at Morgan Street Dance Company at the age of 6. She is a graduate of UL Lafayette where she received her B.S. in Psychology and a minor in English. While at UL, she was a 4 year member of the Ragin’ Jazz dance team where she competed nationally and was involved in concert dance performances within the dance department. She began performing in UL’s “An Evening of Dance” at the age of 13.
In addition to college dance, Milan has worked with MSDC’s LA Dance Company, and she has been choreographing for the company for 6 years. She has choreographed many competition pieces receiving high placing awards from Hollywood Vibe, Dixie, Nuvo, and Odyssey dance convention to name a few. Milan’s dance team experience led her to also coaching and establishing Ascension High School’s first competitive dance team. She also teaches a recreational dance class to children at the Boys and Girls Club of Acadiana.
Ultimately, some of Milan’s most satisfying work is at Aspire Behavioral Health Center. Here, she dedicates her time to administering behavioral therapy to children with autism and other developmental delays, with the intent of providing a better quality of life for each child she encounters.
Milan’s dedication to giving back to individuals makes you feel accomplished and satisfied when leaving her class. Her high energy and enthusiastic personality also make her classes exciting and unique. This will be Milan’s 10th year of teaching dance, and she is more than excited to take on another year!
