This December as part of our Prospect 4 Satellite programming we are proud to present recent works by Ben Koch. Come out and take in these new works painstakingly crafted by one of our own resident artists.

Ben in his recent paper paintings explores materiality and texture through a response to the documentary. Culled from an archive of early 20^th century portrait photography these works seize upon the visual nature of primary sources through a process of sculpting and shaping of pulp made from paper documents. In further explorations heirloom rugs form the material for his work in lush textured portraiture. Koch’s work is an exploration in reimagining the tangible and familial through a process of deconstruction and re-assemblage.
