Student Dance Day Workshop and Showcase

What is Student Dance Day?
A free dance workshop and showcase that connects young people in our area through the art of dance.

How much does it cost?
Both the workshop and the showcase are offered FREE to the public thanks to a generous grant from the Junior League of Lafayette!

Who can participate in the dance workshop?
The workshop is open to all young dancers in Acadiana, age 8-18, as well as dance parents and area dance teachers.

What can we expect at the dance workshop?
-Basin Dance Collective leads a contemporary dance master class for dancers
-Grace Hamilton-Mayfield leads a roundtable discussion for dance teachers
Marie Broussard, UL Coordinator of Dance, leads a parent session about careers in dance
-Carmen Vidrine of Revelocity Fitness & Wellness leads a health & conditioning education seminar

When & Where does Student Dance Day happen?
8:30-9:00am, Participant check-in at the Acadiana Center for the Arts.

9:00-10:00am, Opening Session for all dancers, teachers, parents at AcA

10:00-12:00pm, Professional Dance Master Class with Basin Dance Collective at Basin Arts

11:00-12:00pm, Breakout Seminars with Grace Hamilton-Mayfield and Marie Broussard

12:00-1:00pm Carmen Vidrine of Revelocity Fitness & Wellness leads a health & conditioning education session. Lunch provided!

5:00pm Doors Open at the Lafayette Middle School Auditorium

5:30pm, Student Dance Showcase performance begins. The showcase is open to the general public and free to attend. Kids, Adults, Friends, Family, anyone interested in supporting young dancers in our community are welcome!
