Announcing T.E.A.M

Basin Arts is pleased to announce a new addition to our yearly programming, The Emerging Artist Mentorship Program

aka T.E.A.M.

In January 2018, Basin Arts will present the first T.E.A.M. exhibition featuring a select group of emerging artists who have recently graduated or will soon graduate from a university arts degree program. We are seeking up to four artists to be part of this upcoming exhibition entitled, Conscious Media.

Conscious Media will showcase a group of artists who use medium or media as the major motivating source within the narrative of their works. Artists working in all media are welcome to apply; sculpture, installation, video, drawing, painting, photography, performance, as well as any and all intersections of the above or other media not listed. The selection process will focus on finding artists who exemplify the thematic overtones set out from the shows core as well as those who show potential for collaboration between their works.

The January exhibition coincides with Basin Arts’ inclusion as a Prospect 4 Satellite venue and will be included in our official PS Satellite programming information and marketing.
It is Basin Arts’ intention to use this opportunity to mentor a small group of artists in the behind-the-scenes workings of contemporary art curation and exhibition practices. Selected artists will attend a series of T.E.A.M. meetings through which they will be mentored in areas of installation, documentation, writing of artist statements, CV crafting, marketing practices, curatorial selection and collaboration.

Applicants should be within a year of graduation. Either in their final year of study before graduation or in the first year of life after college graduation.
