May Artwalk means Student Arts Expo. Student Arts Expo is an annual event designed to increase public knowledge and appreciation of the arts with performances and visual arts exhibits. The event represents nearly every school in the Lafayette Parish School System, presenting and celebrating the work of students in grades preK–12.

As a special addition to Basin Arts’ exhibition of student artwork for our May Artwalk, we are hosting a Student Dance Showcase featuring performances from student companies and schools in the Acadiana area. There are so many young dancers in Acadiana and Basin Arts hopes to foster a community of sharing an appreciation for the multitude of talent growing up around us while giving the students more local performance opportunities!

Performances by The Ballet Académie, Modern Movers, The Ballet Studio, Morgan Street Dance Co, Hamilton Academy of the Arts, and Acadiana Indian Association.

Please join us for this free performance event to see a taste of the young dance talent and creativity emerging from our area!

Doors open at 6:30, show starts at 7:00.

Seating is limited. All ages welcome!
